WEDDING PHOTO LIST FOR PHOTOGRAPHER
As a bride /groom to be you probably thinking about what photos should be taken on the day regarding your family and group ? It could be a daunting task as your parents might have a totally different idea and might advise you to do this or that. I have been photographing a wedding for quite a long time now and in my opinion family photos are very important. They really are. You might not see many of them on my website or social media, but YES I always take family/group photos at weddings.
I think you should take the most important family photos during your deink reception when makeup and hair are still in great shape for everyone. there is no spill of champagne on the dress etc. The most important advice from me is: do not take a ton of them. Take 10-15 most important ones you have on your photo list for photographer and then enjoy your time with friends and family. If you start to take too many photos people will ask for more and it will be hard to say no . Then you can miss your drink reception, course you take a lot of group photos which can be taken for example after dinner.
If grounds around the church (some green are, trees, nice wall) and weather permitting get them done straight after the ceremony, everybody there nobody in the bar, room, toilet etc it will be much easier to gather them together, quicker and smoother.
- have a list of family/group photos ready.
- ask for help from one person on each family side to help me organize members as I do not know them.
- do not plan too many family shots as it won’t work, after 10-15 shots guest get bored, kids start disturbing parents and take their attention. Better do 10-15 proper shots than 20 with people looking around, but not into the camera.
- If your venue has some outstanding backdrop it might be worth getting families photos there instead of church.
- Do not worry too much:) I will be there to help and make sure everything go smooth and easy. Below is my standard list
- Bride + Groom + Groom parents
- Bride + Groom + Bride parents
