Let’s compare all of the famous and not-so-famous hidden gems in Dublin City Centre. Fun and alternative, luxury and affordable venues to create the ultimate list of best places to tie the knot.
1. SMOCK ALLEY THEATRE
This venue is not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s one of the finest buildings you can hire for your wedding day. A beautiful Banquet hall with red bricks wall and massive stained windows make this place so unique. You can choose where to have your ceremony. Smock Alley is also one of the spaciest wedding venues I have been to. It has a capacity of Banquet Hall 250. Whatever you choose, a classic red brick wall space or alternatively a theatre stage will be gorgeous to host your wedding ceremony.
Cost: €1,500

2. CITY HALL DUBLIN
City Hall in Dublin is another great place to be included in my list. City Hall was built in 1769 and is a prime example of Neo-classical architecture in Dublin. With a perfect central location in the city centre and majestic interior architecture, it makes this venue is one of the most popular recently. Located at Parliament Street, the City Hall building stands next to the Dublin Castle, which is a great backdrop for your photos just a step from your ceremony. The beauty of a City Hall Wedding is that you get to choose the style without compromise!
Dublin City Hall can accommodate up to 200 guests, seated, Theatre Style for your wedding ceremony. The spacious Rotunda room and exquisitely ornate domed ceiling create an elegant ambience for guests to enjoy your special day. The amazing architecture will envelop and enhance your wedding day whether you choose an intimate ceremony with your nearest and dearest or be surrounded by lots of family and friends.
Cost €1250

3. TRINITY COLLEGE
Tucked inside Trinity College is one of the most beautiful sanctuaries in Dublin. It’s a fascinating chapel with quality light for photographers. The building that dates back to the 1800s is arguably one of the unique places for church ceremonies. It’s slightly different from most of the venues as your guests are sitting on balconies on each side of you. I have been photographing quite a few great weddings in this spot. One of which I will share with you below. There is one thing you need to consider before you try to book this venue. Application to tie the knot in the chapel is considered only when at least one partner has a degree from the University.

4. HOUSE DUBLIN
Small, intimate wedding gatherings are getting more and more popular these days. If you like to skip the “big pomp in favour of a casual backyard restaurant wedding reception instead, House Dublin Restaurant will be a stellar choice for you. Located at 27 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2. Suitable for casual small parties under 100 guests. This boutique place designed with style offers a great food menu with a choice of cocktails to die for. The restaurant offers two-level spaces for your dream wedding. One is the main bar where you can hold your drink reception and private space in the back garden area for your meal at Dublin City Wedding.
Tip: Weddings on Sundays only.

5. DRURY BUILDING
Fans of a bit more alternative slash industrial space will fall in love with this unique spot. I will blame the steel pillars and exposed scratched walls, that create one trendy and laid-back urban venue that young modern couples can dream about. After a relaxing drink reception in some of the close-by local pubs, you move to the second floor, above the day-to-day restaurant where the function room for your private hire is located. That’s where they serve delicious food. Drury Buildings cater for weddings of up to 90 guests.

6. ANGLER REST
If you love to organize a Dublin city wedding but do it not totally in the city centre here is a Small cosy restaurant laying in the Phoenix Park area that is another hidden gem for your nuptials. The place is known to Dubliners for years. Rustic decor combined with excellent service is making this place a very popular venue.
7. HADDINGTON HOUSE
Of course, this list won’t be complete if not included at least one place where you can enjoy the view of the Atlantic. So for the best view for the smell of the sea and breeze in your hair Haddington House. This old Victorian house transformed into an award-winning Olivetto restaurant is serving outstanding food and wine. In the summertime, you can gather at the front garden overlooking the Dún Laoghaire pier soaking in tasty cocktails! So it’s another gem to hold a perfect Dublin city wedding.

8. NEW KIDS IN THE CITY: LARKIN’S BREWERY
As long as there are a lot of places where you can get married or organise a Dublin City wedding party there is always room for something new. Especially if it is something different. If you like your wedding to stand out from most of the others you need to create something unusual. And here is Larkin’s Brewery in Kilcoole-Dublin. Privately owned independent Brewery where weddings look just out of this world. It really stands out in an ocean of venues with a cool, urban, industrial interior. It’s not for everyone but it’s definitely something worth considering if the urban wedding is your jam.
